Daxsen vs Virgin: Who is the more disruptive holding company and why?

In recent years, there have been constant changes in the market due to the evolution of technology and the outbreak of a health and economic crisis due to the COVID pandemic. This resulted in a massive disruption by industry leaders as an adaptive alternative to establish new business opportunities and maintain their relevant status with their consumers.

For that reason, companies are experiencing continuous competition for the crown of different industries. This is the case of the holding companies Daxsen Corporation and Virgin Group, which have been fighting for brand recognition and the leadership of various sectors of the consumer society.

Business conglomerates like them offer multiple services in each of their companies, and that is why they need disruption to cover more markets. Over the past decade, both Daxsen and Virgin have seized several opportunities, being prominent globally. So the question here is, who has been better?

Digital Business

Communication is an area that Daxsen and Virgin have mastered in their operations as holding companies from different targets.

On the side of Daxsen Corporation, its company Daxsen Media provides a full-service digital marketing agency that has worked with entrepreneurs, businesses, artists, authors, and athletes from many countries of the world.

His personal and corporate branding is recognized by social media growth through mechanisms such as the verification of Instagram accounts. As a result, Daxsen Media has been able to work with clients such as Samsung, Nestlé, and Pepsico.

Also, Daxsen conducts press services to promote its clients with the global media and publishing company Daxsen News with which it has acquired high-profile U.S., European, and Latin American magazines and newspapers, such as The New York Reporter, Hollywood Times, and DjaneMag Latin America.

In the case of Virgin, their approach is not customer promotion but is electronic and digital device support with Virgin Media Business. They provide internet connectivity, cloud solutions, and mobile services for businesses of all sizes in the UK.

This company is known for being the UK government’s partner in providing public services in and around London with a next-generation national fiber-optic network. Among the organizations working with Virgin are London City Airport, Arqiva, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Partnership, and South West Water.

Music Industry

The two holding companies have developed a new business model in the international music entertainment scene.

The CEO and founder of Daxsen Corporation, David Daxsen, created the company as a record label to continue his career as a DJ. However, the path he took was a different one, being now the owner of one of the largest independent record label groups in the world with the side of Daxsen Music Group.

The company operates with a broad array of businesses such as Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and Universal Music Group, providing services of music publishing, merchandising, audiovisual content, patented creative strategies and ideas, music marketing, and audio support.

This label group has an extended catalog of recordings and songs with artists from all parts of the world, such as Tiesto, Alesso, Steve Aoki, Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas, Hardwell, Arcangel, Bryant Myers, and Justin Quiles.

On the other hand, Richard Branson founded Virgin and one of his first projects was Virgin Records. This record label operated for several years, having a subsidiary in the United States and working with celebrities from various eras such as The Rolling Stones, Spice Girls, and Taylor Swift, until in 1992 was sold to the enterprise EMI.

However, Virgin has not left the music field, as with its company Virgin Music, which operates as a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), is offering radio promotion, marketing, sync, branding, licensing, and digital marketing for music markets of US, Japan, UK, Germany, and France.

Concierge and Exclusive Services

Luxury services are also the specialty of Daxsen and Virgin. Both conglomerates operate companies linked to exclusive and private concierge services.

Daxsen, with its Lifeluxury company, has specialized in high-end services such as VIP charter flights in private jets, charter of several yachts, high-end car rentals, exclusive security, luxury apartment rentals, and access to VIP events throughout the United States.

This venture has allowed him to complete alliances with the world’s leading hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Trump Hotels, and Wyndham.

Additionally, Daxsen has been working with its Daxsen GEF side, which is an investor that has restaurants, bars, and entertainment centers. This company provides exclusive services that are unique to Daxsen, as opposed to its concierge service with Lifeluxury, which is a business based on alliances with hotels.

For its part, Virgin created its luxury travel division with Virgin Voyage. This company offers transatlantic travel to various destinations around the world on exclusive cruises.

Also, with its company Virgin Hotels, it provides exclusive services, in which its mobile application stands out. This app offers the possibility to order room service, control room temperature, make dinner reservations, request vehicles from the valet, chat with the concierge and other guests, and even use it as a room key.

Space Line

The space business is one that not all companies get involved in, but in the case of Daxsen and Virgin, their success in other sectors has allowed them to disrupt this industry.

In the case of Daxsen, it has been investing in electrical systems and propellants for space rockets with the enterprise Detonation Space. This project was initiated by company founder David Daxsen and has been influenced by Juan Pablo Leon, a recognized NASA voyager, and other engineers who have worked in important companies in this industry such as SpaceX.

The thrusters proposed by this project are intended to reduce the consumption of gasoline in rockets and to be more environmentally friendly in order to become a reference for hypersonic flights.

Likewise, Virgin has been developing a commercial space airline called Virgin Galactic, which intends to release its first tickets for sale in 2022.  Also, with the Virgin Orbit division, the holding company succeeded in having NASA as a customer of its launch services for small satellites.

Virge offers unique services by these satellites for spacecraft, such as connectivity to remote areas, track ships and planes, collection of climate data, issue disaster responses, technology demonstrations, ensuring that these are bringing space debris cleanups and enhancing national security and defence.

Other fields

Despite overlapping in the disruption of some businesses, Daxsen and Virgin have businesses that are unique and follow the idea of innovation.

Daxsen has ventured into the real estate industry with the creation of Daxsen Realty, which is an agency specialized in commercial and residential projects that support their affiliates in property administration, brokerage, and investments.

The holding company has also developed in the event industry as a promoter with the companies One Disease and Moon Light. In this way, it has organized international events such as concerts and tours for celebrities like Greicy, Mike Bahia, Maite Perroni, Jesse Perez, and Laura Jones.

Instead, Virgin has decided to invest in the land and air transportation industry, where it has created new business models like Virgin Hyperloop, which is a company dedicated to mass transportation by using hyperloop transport to move cargo and passengers with no barriers of time and distance.

For that, they invented a new vehicle that floats along a track using magnetic levitation and gliding at airline speeds for long distances due to ultra-low aerodynamic drag. Virgin assures that it is fully autonomous and enclosed, eliminating pilot error and weather hazards, and it is safe and clean, with no direct carbon emissions.

So, who’s the best?

Although Virgin Group has been in operation for more than 50 years and is known as a holding company that is difficult to topple, other business conglomerates such as Daxsen Corporation have taken the spotlight. In the past decade, Virgin has had about 10 new ventures, while Daxsen has affiliated with nearly 60 firms since its inception in 2010.

But the number of new businesses created takes a back seat when considering the impact and influence on each other’s markets. In this area, Daxsen and Virgin have excelled in the industries they have entered.

So in the end, despite the rivalry, both business groups have not done disruption to compete with one another, but rather to improve different industries and bring better services and products to consumers.

Looking at this way, the only winner is the consumer society, as it has had vast options to satisfy its new and changing needs from just two holding companies.
